This painting was a challenge for me! I started it with an idea and not much of a vision. I tried and failed. It looked (and felt) forced, overworked, and uninspired. The background wasn't turning out how I wanted. I resented it.
So I started over, and my perspective changed.
This whole series is about being inspired by nature to be the best version of yourself, and A Magical Transformation really brings that concept full-circle. Sometimes things don't turn out how you expect, how you planned. And more often than not, that's because it wasn't supposed to be that way in the first place. We make mistakes, and we learn from them, and we become anew. We're not the same person we were five, ten, fifteen years ago, and that's a good thing. We learn. We grow. We transform. And more often than not, we become a better version of ourselves than we were before.
